TCEQ_s Water Well Notification Guidance Update |
 |
A webinar presentation with Paul Lewis, Technical Specialist with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, about the changes to RG-428 as well as the Remediation Division’s evaluation criteria and observations on what to emphasize in a Drinking Water Survey Report. The TCEQ is required by statute (Texas Water Code Section 26.408) to provide notice to owners of private drinking water wells which could be impacted by groundwater contamination. The Remediation Division evaluates the information in the Drinking Water Survey Report (DWSR), usually prepared by the regulated entity, to identify the water wells in need of notification near a release site. The TCEQ document RG-428 Preparation of a Drinking Water Survey Report, revised in January 2010, is the main source of guidance on the types and formats of information that go into the report. |
